Stream Restoration and Monitoring September 27 - October 2, 2008 (see www.unb.ca/cri for updates) A six day classroom and field course held at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and in Fundy National Park (Alma, New Brunswick). Lectures include uniform and rapidly varied hydraulics and their application in designing stream habitat restoration projects (Newbury). A day of monitoring examples and methods are given by several Rivers Institute members (Cunjak, Culp, Peake, Curry and Munkittrick. Field lectures and surveys deal with the Dickson Brook restoration project that runs through the Fundy National Park golf course (below and Current Projects).
Reaches to be restored to natural channel dimensions (Parks Canada 2004), 80% completed 2007.
